Kat Callo

Kat Callo is a leading international expert on leaseholder rights and issues. As founding director of Rosetta Consulting Limited, she brings global best-practice solutions to the unique home-owner challenges faced by leaseholders of flats in England and Wales. Prior to incorporating Rosetta, Callo worked for 17 years at Reuters in a variety of international assignments, including editorial, strategy, marketing, product development, business development and project management. She started her Reuters career as a foreign correspondent based in Europe and Asia, and later served as senior vice president at Reuters London headquarters in charge of a fast-growth global business. A dual British-U.S. national, Callo is the author of the market-leading books on leaseholder rights: Making Sense of Leasehold Property and The Survivor’s Guide To Buying A Freehold. She is a graduate of London Business School (MSc), Columbia University School of Journalism (MS) and SUNY at Purchase (BA).

Alan Edwards

Alan Edwards is an experienced legal expert on leasehold and freehold matters. He has been extensively involved in providing legal advice on leasehold matters since the 1970s and was involved in providing legal industry expertise during the drafting of the landmark law on freehold purchase, the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993. Edwards was also involved in the passage of the amending legislation, the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002. As Senior Partner at Alan Edwards & Co Solicitors, he has acted in successful freehold purchases of many residential blocks of flats in London and in other parts of England. Edwards trained with Withy King and Lee (Bath) and Michael Cramer and Co (London), and qualified as a solicitor in 1970. He founded Alan Edwards & Co in 1984.

Mark Wilson

Mark Wilson is a leading chartered surveyor specialist in valuations for Collective Enfranchisements and statutory lease extensions. He is widely known for deep expertise in this area of valuation, for providing high-quality customer care to clients and for taking a well-rounded strategic view of clients' options. Wilson is founding director of Myleasehold Ltd, a valuation service for freehold purchase and lease extensions based in London's Marylebone district. He is also the principal of Globe Apartments, which manages the sale and rental of flats across central London. The firm specialises in letting and managing serviced apartments in London's W1 area, and caters to a client base that includes financial institutions and pension funds. Wilson has a BSc with distinction in Land Administration, is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and sits on the RICS Residential Letting and Management Committee.

Our company name draws its inspiration from the Rosetta Stone, a fragment of an ancient inscribed tablet that has become a modern icon for the art of decoding and deciphering. The Rosetta Stone was carved in 196 BC and discovered in Egypt by the French expeditionary forces of Napoleon in 1799. The Stone had been carved in three scripts by priests to honour an Egyptian pharaoh. The first script was Egyptian hieroglyphics, the second was demotic and the third was ancient Greek. When the stone was discovered, hieroglyphics had long been a mystery to linguists and other scholars. In 1822, Jean-François Champollion deciphered the Rosetta Stone and, in so doing, unlocked the world of hieroglyphics.
